When in Paris. . .
He was quite serious about the black beret, folks. Wearing it everywhere but bed. He spends a fair amount of time adjusting it, asking me if it looks right. I explained that with a beret one has a lot of leeway. You can push it to the side, cover one ear if you’d like, smush it over your eye just so. One must wear it confidently, certain that you’re conveying that je ne sais qois a beret implies.
